Meat feast!
Well after our nap on the first night, we headed out. After a quick walk Chris had taken me to a Japanese BBQ. We spent 5 mins trying to decipher the menu before the waiter came over and gave us an English menu. Still not that clear we ordered anyway with the typical pointing and nodding of heads. The BBQ was brought out and as soon as the lid was lifted we were blasted by the heat. quickly followed by some refreshing beer. The first plate arrive which was Salted Beef tongue, which was deliciously. Then the plates kept coming, flames were getting high, quickly doused by ice cold water. After some 2 hours we had made our way through pretty much all of the meat brought out, which ended up being 90 pieces each. the squid to difficult to work out the best cooking times. Once we had conceded to this, ice-cream was then brought out. During all this we were surrounded by couples on dates, I do not know what they thought of 2 guys sitting there together.
We left the restaurant and wandered down the quiet empty Friday night streets and happened upon a Pachinko house, and I wanted to play. As soon as the doors opened we were blasted by noise so deafening you could not hear anyone talking. For those that don’t know think of a pinball machine with thousands of balls and video screens playing winning videos. We spent 10-15 mins just trying to work out how to pay to play. After working this out I sat down and started, balls were going in but I wasn’t winning any. A king gentleman came over and showed me how to play. Videos were playing with lots of noise and I thought here we go. I won 2 balls, which is nothing. People around me had millions. A bit embarrassed we left.
After we left the floor started to feel like it was bouncing and I started to feel very tired, so the first night in Tokyo came to an end.
